PROM STYLES
FAIRYTALE

A pretty princess gown is the perfect dress to remember this once in a life time night. A soft pink or a baby blue color will make you feel like the prettiest girl at the prom. Make up should be very light. The dress speaks for itself, there is no need for a face full of make up.

Substitution in your Wardrobe

There's always unique ways to transition your wardrobe into different seasons, take Spring for example, I've started wearing my cardigans, button down shirts, and sweat shirts with heavier materials to substitute for a jacket. It can work for a 60-70 degree day during the Spring, sometimes I don't like bringing along a jacket and just want to be on the go. Try it out and style it your own way.

Talking About The Abstraction Fall/Winter 2014 Look Book

Came across the Talking About The Abstraction Fall/Winter 2014 Look Book recently, and was very pleased! The styling of each look is very editorial, and Fun. I personally like a lot of the shirts, jackets and pants separately to be worn a regular day. Talking About The Abstraction is a Osaka based fashion label. Check out some of my favorite looks from the look book below.

My Favorite looks of the week from Instagram

With the Spring bringing warmer weather this week, there were plenty nice looks I came across on Instagram! Take a look below to check them out!

Shop The Trend

I'm definitely appreciating the amount of fringe going on this season. I'm a big believer in less is more, and all you need is a pop of something jazzy to accentuate an outfit. Fringe is the perfect way to achieve that look.

How do you feel about the current fringe trend?

7 Ways to Wear a Mini Skirt

The weather is beautiful! That means its time to bring out our legs to play. With all the new trends and fashion statements out there, it can get a little over whelming when deciding how to pull off a great mini skirt look. Especially when you're worried about showing too much skin or flashing your underwear. Cosmopolitan suggested 7 different ways that we can wear a mini skirt, while still being very trendy and flirty. Check out some of their ideas below!

1. Wear a bodycon miniskirt with an asymmetrical top

When one side is more covered than the other, we subconsciously place the hem somewhere in the middle — like taking the average of the two lengths. *Fashion Math*

Keep it Catty!

The infamous "Cat Look" is as hot as a smoky eye but takes fewer steps and way less makeup!! That means no meltdowns ladies!!!  This is also a great way to add a little sexy to your make-up.

Happy Feet

Everyone knows the most important part of an outfit are the shoes. Take a look at some this Spring's must have styles below and make your feet happy!

Oil Pulling for Dummies

As you know I love finding all natural beauty products and DIY regimens. Recently, I was introduced to oil pulling. Oil pulling is an ancient Indian method of removing bacteria and build up from your teeth and gums. It is said to help whiten teeth as well. Though not clinically proven, after a bit more research I decided to give oil pulling a try. It only takes 1 tablespoon of coconut. Swish it around in your mouth for about 20 minutes, spit and rinse with warm salt water. Follow with your regular brushing and mouthwash routine. So swishing for 20 minutes was definitely a lot harder than I expected, after about 90 seconds I was tired and ready to move on with my day. I was able to fight through and last about 12 minutes instead. By the time I was finished the oil had almost doubled in size which was supposed to be the toxins pulled from my mouth. So it definitely looked like it had done some good. And my teeth definitely felt super clean. All in all, I'd say it's worth a try if you have coconut oil already laying around the house. I'm always down for a quick detox!

Sunflower and sesame are oil alternatives if you are allergic to coconut oil.

2014 Coachella Fashion Fail

The first weekend of Coachella looked amazing from the line up of artists that performed. I can't quite say the same for this year's festival fashion trends. With festivals becoming more and more popular and mainstream, party goers are dressing more and more like "hippies". I understand that fashion is forever evolving and eventually just repeats from decades past. But there's something unauthentic about some of the styles from this year's Coachella festival. It seemed as if people are turning festival fashion into more of a costume rather than expressing your sense of style. Yes fringe, cowboy boots, lace, oversized fedoras etc. come to mind when you think of the 70's. But true style is be able to use current trends and put unique things together with your own twist. It seems that everyone looked the same this year.

What are your thoughts on festival fashion?

2014 MTV Video Movie Award's Best Dressed

Spring is in full effect. Unfortunately not everyone got the memo. There was a lot of black and dark colors, which I am a strong believer in all black, in intimate everyday settings. Celebs strutted the red carpet over the weekend at the VMA's. I fell in love with patterns with pops of black, bright colors and pastels.

Which landed me on my top 3 favorite looks from this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Iggy Azalea
Pretty in pink. Iggy gave us sheer, pastel, embroidered realness in this John Galliano number. Pulled back hair, soft natural makeup and fun wedge. She takes the #1 spot for me.

Phresh Off The Runway: Spring Style Inspiration

Spring is my favorite season of the year, Style is ALWAYS refreshing, Whether it's 80 or 60 degrees, the spring is always a very comfortable dressing season. I've took some of my favorite looks from off the runways of the Spring 2014 shows and put them together for Style inspiration.

From the Nautica Spring 2014 show, digging the neutral colored sweat shirt and hoodie. Love the prints of the shorts in middle!

Alexander Wang x H&M

Not only do I have Kanye West x Adidas to look forward to, now I have Alexander Wang x H&M added to the list. The collab was announced to the public yesterday via Instagram where the Alxander Wang IG page was just launched, H&M and Wang also threw a big bash out in Coachella to kick to everything off last night. I'm excited to see what Wang is going to design for H&M. Here's some pics from the H&M and Alexander Wang party below!

2014 Spring Trends

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE so we all know what that means. The second all of this snow melts away there will be a lot of legs, arms, and midriffs showing. Fortunately, it's still a little chilly, so we have time to prepare our closets for the hot weather . Below are some key items that's a MUST to purchase when shopping for the Spring season.
High Waist
Let's be honest, the "high-waist" trend isn't going ANYWHERE! High waist items always accentuates our legs by making them look longer and the dreaded "muffin top" all of a sudden vanishes.
The waistband should always be visible right, or else what’s the point? Shirts should be tucked in or cropped high whenever wearing anything high waist. This look can go from day to night with the change of your accessories and/or make-up.

Designer Obsession

Spring is finally here, which means fun in the sun! Get a head start on your swimsuit shopping for upcoming vacay's and beach trips. I'm currently loving swimwear designer Andrea Iyamah. her 2014 line is nothing short of amazing. Check it out!

The Casual Male Look

I'll admit that Street Style is my first option when it comes to MY style, but sometimes I like to switch things up. Casual or the upscale casual male look doesn't always have to be boring. You can always add some things to make it more interesting. The cardigan, plaid shirt, pants, and boat shoes combo, can be perfect for a nice Spring or Fall day. Try adding a more street inspired/ laid back shirt or cardigan to add some of your personal style to it. Don't over do it and make it to preppy, like they were doing in 2009.
Accessories are always essential for your look, whether sunglasses, watch, bracelet, chain or hat it can be what defines your outfit. I have to admit until recently I thought accessories were irrelevant in Menswear (Or at least in my style), but sometimes on a laid back day throwing on a pair of sunglasses or a nice hat can make you look cool. When heading into the office you can always keep it "Mad Men", or "GQ" inspired. Pair a long coat and scarf with your usual office look to give it that spark!

Street Style: Control-Sector

Up and coming clothing line Control Sector is easily one of my favorite American Based Men's Clothing Brands. Based in LA the brand shows both in New York, and LA fashion weeks. It has a very complex and edgy style, It's like the brand was made to be featured in Nylon Guys. Definitely a line to watch, and what makes it even better the price range is very affordable. Take a look below to introduce yourself to Control-Sector.

Nick Young x Iggy Azalea

Nick Young and Iggy Azalea were also in this month's issue of GQ magazine. They're one of the NBA's newest couples and it doesn't hurt Nick Young to have Iggy on his arms. Take a look below to check the spread out.
